East European Performing Arts Platform (EEPAP) supports the
development of contemporary performing arts (dance and theatre)
in 18 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Aesthetica Art Prize is open for submissions from artists focusing on video, installation, performance art

Hosted by Aesthetica Magazine, the Aesthetica Art Prize is a celebration of excellence in art from across the world. It offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience, and further their engagement with the international art world. The Judging Panel enhances its position in the industry, bringing together specialists from leading cultural institutions.

 

Prizes

There are two awards for entry: the Main Prize and the Student Prize

Main Prize

  • £5,000 prize money courtesy of Hiscox
  • Group exhibition hosted by Aesthetica and York Museums Trust
  • Editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine
  • Publication in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology
  • £250 art supplies vouchers courtesy of Winsor & Newton
  • Art books courtesy of Prestel

Student Prize

  • £1,000 prize money courtesy of Hiscox
  • Group exhibition hosted by Aesthetica and York Museums Trust
  • Editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine
  • Publication in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology

Categories

There are four categories for entry:

1. Video, Installation & Performance
Including but not limited to: video, installation, performance art.

2. Photographic & Digital Art
Including but not limited to: photography, digitally manipulated work, neon work.

3. Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture
Including but not limited to: stone, glass, metal and wood work; ceramics, textiles.

4. Painting & Drawing
Including but not limited to: painting, illustration, calligraphy, printmaking, collage.

 

Timescale

  • January: Open for Entries
  • 31 August: Closed for Entries
  • September – January: Judging Process
  • 1 February: Longlist Announced
  • 1 February: Shortlist Announced
  • February: Exhibition Dates Announced
  • Spring: Exhibition Opens
  • Winners announced at exhibition Opening Night

 

Guidelines

  • One Entry Fee permits the submission of two works in any one category
  • The Video, Installation & Performance category is an exception: you may submit only one work in this category per Entry Fee
  • You may enter as many times as you wish by purchasing additional Entry Fees
  • Works previously exhibited or published elsewhere are accepted
  • Collaborative works are accepted
  • Works produced within the last three years are preferred, although works made at any time before submission can be entered
  • There is no size limit, although the size of the work in relation to the exhibition space will be a consideration in the shortlisting process
  • Deadline for submissions: 31 August 2016
