Call for applications: Cambridge Sustainability Residency 2015

BMF

The Residency is organised by the e:collective art group and is supported by the Cambridge School of Art.

The Residency envisages the fostering of cross-disciplinary dialogue and hopes to bring socially engaged works to local and international audiences. It is set to be a space where conditions are created for discussion, innovation and the exploration of new knowledges necessary to face the new challenges, particularly those created by human activity.

In order to reduce the carbon foot print of travelling, this year we will be accepting entrances from artists based overseas who would like to participate in the Residency dialogue from where they are based.

What we offer:

  • Online group crits and one-to-one tutorial time
  • Virtual platform
  • Participation in the Exhibition in the Ruskin Gallery
  • Online access to talks

The selected artists will be responsible for online connections to discussions, group crits, etc. and to make themselves available for activities programmed on UK time (GMT). The selected artists will be responsible for their own local research and will contribute to the final show with a piece/s of work or documentation of the research process. These will be facilitated to the organisers in digital form.

The theme for the 2015 residency is RAW. Please send a 50 to 100 word proposal of work related to sustainability and/or the concept of ‘raw’. Please note that this should be a working idea rather than a final art piece. Include sketches where necessary.

You are required to submit this application form by Sunday 19th April 2015.

Selected artists will be announced on Thursday 23rd April 2015.
