Call for Applications: Gaude Polonia Scholarship program for creators from Central and Eastern Europe (Poland)

The National Center for Culture in Poland announces the open call for the 17th edition of the Gaude Polonia Scholarship Program of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.


The call is open to creators from Belarus, Ukraine or other Central and Eastern European countries who are aged 40 or younger and work in the following fields:

  • theatre
  • history and criticism of film, music, art, theater
  • visual arts
  • literature / translation
  • film
  • photography
  • conservation of works of art
  • museums
  • music

The program consists of a 6 month stay in Poland, during which the winners will carry out their scholarship projects under the guidance of recognized Polish artists and cultural institutions.


The 17th edition of the Program will take place between the 1st of February and the 31st of July, 2018.

Gaude Polonia is a scholarship programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage intended for creators of culture and translators of Polish literature before age 40, coming from Central European countries, mostly Belarus and Ukraine, who work in the following fields: film, photography, conservation of art and architecture, literature/translation, music, visual arts, theatre, art criticism. A six-month stay in Poland is to enable holders to become familiar with Polish culture and to improve their creative skills under the guidance of renowned artists and institutions in major centres of Polish culture.
