Call for Artists from Germany and Israel: Artistic Research and Residency Project

MP

en/COUNTERs seeks 10 performance-based artists from Israel and Germany to create a platform for artistic excange and researc. A series of workshops by leading local artists, held alternately in both countries, will enable participants to develop their personal artistic positions.

en/COUNTERs seeks to explore and question German-Israeli relations, entanglements and encounters.

What kind of encounters do the official relations and the hegemonic discourse on German-Israeli entanglements permit - or, in turn, exclude? How do they affect an individual's life, thoughts and actions? How can performing arts (also including video art, dance, sound and installation) confront these topics and concerns? What elements remain forgotten?Which themes are yet to be unfolded? How can counter-hegemonic arguments and questions be artistically investigated and formulated? And especially, how can an Israeli-German encounter promote different artistic positions?

The deadline for proposals is 5 March 2015. Specific requirements are available on the website.
