The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw announces the call for applications for the 10th ITSelF Festival, which will take place in Warsaw. This year the festival will take place between 3 and 8 October 2019.

The International Theatre Schools Festival ITSelF is a theatre biennial, organized by The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, Poland. The Festival is supported by the Capital City of Warsaw and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Since its first edition, it is organized under The Honorary Patronage of The President of the Republic of Poland.

The 10th edition of the ITSelF Festival will be held from 3rd till 8th of October 2019

The main objective of ITSelF Festival is to promote theatre culture and young talents of the stage, share experiences, bring cultures closer by gathering artists together, as well as to present Poland as a country which supports culture and appreciates its influence on the development of the society.

In the previous editions the festival hosted over 80 theatre schools from different continents, a number of guests from all over the world, as well as thousands of spectators.

The Festival programme includes not only final degree shows, which are performed by various theatre schools invited and admitted to the competition, but also numerous associated events, such as Off Festival shows, meetings with theatre and cinema celebrities, as well as theatre workshop dedicated to both, professionals and amateurs.

All the performances in the competition are provided with Polish subtitles.

The organisers believe the strength of participants’ youth, talent and enthusiasm make each edition of the Festival unique.

The deadline to apply is the 31st of January 2019.
