in 18 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The NETA International Festival Bucharest, 28.08-04.09.2015 (Romania)

The motto of the festival is: Theatre – hero of our times. Starting August 28th, 2015, under the new hat of the National Theatre of Bucharest, initiator, organizer and host, The NETA 2015 International Theatre Festival will be taking place, an ample theatrical event that will reunite in Bucharest 13 theatrical productions from 10 countriesmembers of the NETA network.

NETA (New European Theatre Action), a network in which the “I.L.Caragiale” National Theatre of Bucharest is a founding member, became, in a decade of activity, one of the most important European theatrical associations, its activity supported by the European Council and EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency). At the same time, it is the most ample theatrical association of this type in Europe, reuniting 68 members (national theatres, companies, festivals) from 20 European countries, with a plan of expanding its activity beyond the old continent’s borders in the near future.

The programme wil contain performances from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia and Slovenia. Stay tuned for more news.

 

NETA festival board selected the following 11 performances accompanied by 2 NETA co-productions, which will be presented in competition program:

–    E. O’Neill: Long Day’s Journey into Night, directed by Spiro Duni (National Theatre Tirana, Albania);
–    I. Dobchev, S. Ivanov: Medea – My Mother, directed by Margarita Mladenova, Ivan Dobchev (Theatre-Laboratory Sfumato, Bulgaria);
–    W. Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by David Doiashvilli (Music and Drama Theatre Tbilisi, Georgia);
–    The Word Father, directed by Gabriele Vacis (Teatro Koreja, Italy);
–    R. Vojvodić: Everyman Djilas, directed by Radmila Vojvodić (The Montenegrin National Theatre, Montenegro);
–    S. Makarovič: Dead Man Comes for His Mistress, directed by Jernej Lorenci (Prešeren Theatre Kranj and City Theatre Ptuj, Slovenia);
–    D. Dukovski: The Powder Keg, directed by Felix Alexa (Bucharest National Theatre, Romania);
–    A. Zholdak: Electra, directed by Andriy Zholdak (Macedonian National Theatre, Macedonia);
–    B. Brezovec: Confusions, directed by Branko Brezovec (Eurokaz Zagreb, Croatia);
–    L. Djurković: Tobelia, directed by Nick Upper (Cultural society B-51– Ex Ponto Festival, Slovenia, The Small Drama Theatre of Bitola, Macedonia, Drama and Puppet Theatre Vratsa, Bulgaria);
–    Gelver’s Night, directed by A. Bargman (Drama Theatre V. F. Komissarzevskaja, Russia).

 

And two NETA co-productions:

–    J. Plevneš: Ciril and Method directed by Martin Kočovski (Macedonian co-producers, Theatre-Laboratory Sfumato, Bolgaria, Cultural society B-51– Ex Ponto Festival, Slovenia);
–    A. Skubic: Hurrah, Nosferatu, directed by Simona Semenič (SNG Nova Gorica, The Mladinsko Theatre and Cultural society B-51– Ex Ponto Festival, Slovenia).
