Reshape Forum in Lublin

1-2 April 2019

Centre for Culture in Lublin, Poland

On April 1-2 a Forum of the Reshape project will take place in Lublin. The Forum will gather about 150 creators, artists and researchers of art, coming from more than 30 countries, who will discuss the possible changes in practices in the contemporary world of culture and art. The debates, workshops and presentations planned for the event will serve as an introduction to a 2-year process, during which the representatives of the partners of the Reshape project and the participants chosen through an open call will work together to create recommendations for five key issues: “Art and citizenship,” “Fair governance models,” “Value of art in social fabric,”  “Solidarity funding,” “Transnational / postnational artistic practices.”

The Reshape project is financed with the support of the European Union, though the Creative Europe program. East European Performing Arts Platform is the program’s partner in Poland, and the Forum will take place at the Centre for Culture in Lublin.

RESHAPE is a research and development project that brings together arts organisations from Europe and the South Mediterranean to jointly create innovative organisational models and reflect on concrete answers to crucial challenges of contemporary art practices. The aim of RESHAPE is to imagine an alternative to the European arts ecosystem by rethinking its instruments and collaborative models, placing them in line with artistic and social innovation and the principles of fairness, solidarity, geographic balance and sustainability.
