transeuropa: a European festival of young performing arts
transeuropa is a European festival of young performing arts, which will take place in Hildesheim from May 27th until June 1st 2015.
For the eighth time transeuropa invites you to a diverse program of performances, in-house productions and participatory projects. Young artists from different parts of europe will present their work during the festival, ranging from performance, dance, film to music.
transeuropa also hosts a transdiciplinary congress, which will discuss the future of artistic work and work in general for two days and one night during the festival. “(How) do we want to work in future?”, will be the guiding question under which academics, artists and experts from various fields will exchange their experiences and opinions on the matter. “What role can the arts play for future ways of work? What wishes and ideas have the young artists for their future? How can we organize ourselves and who is this ominous “we”?
The decisive aim of transeuropa is the encouragement of young artists in the performing arts. The student-organized festival is therefor relying on a network of artists and collectives from all over europe. Besides the invited artists, transeuropa will invite four artists or art-collectives to create a performance at site, in residence. These productions will be developed in collaboration with the team of transeuropa and will be premiered during the festival.
