The IETM Bucharest Plenary Meeting 2017 took place from 20 to 23 April 2017 and focused on the challenges of art as an object of professional pursuit as well as of making a living out of art. You can read more about the meeting here.

It was also an excellent opportunity to create a joint publication on the state of the performing arts scene in Romania. East European Performing Arts Platform and IETM prepared 3 essays on theatre archives, independent and national theatre that have been previously published in EEPAP’s Platform: An East European Performing Arts Companion. These are:

  1. “Romania Archive(s)” by Iulia Popovici and Miruna Runcan
  2. “A short history of independent theatre” by Iulia Popovici
  3. “On the Uses of a National Theatre” by Miruna Runcan

You can download the publication in English and in French below.
