Performativity Educational Art Project is intended to be an annual event and is meant to be the first step in creating a continuing alternative art educational platform in Ukraine that can expand and change its form and location, depending on the needs of the art community and the social context where it is placed.

The project’s aim is to develop the Ukrainian contemporary performing scene.
Ukraine is facing a crisis of cultural prospects. The degree of development in contemporary art and art education reflects the country’s overall cultural situation. While there is no lack of artistic productions, there is lack of critical reflection that precludes the possibility for cultural innovation.

The strict division of artistic practices into genres still persists from Soviet times. Contemporary art is a phenomenon that transgresses the borders between genres, disciplines and media, and has the ability to analyze itself as well as the conditions in which it exists; thus it is capable of influencing the development of cognitive technologies.

Performativity was conducted from 27 June to the 10 July 2011, and will be held as an annual event.
