The East European Performing Arts Platform wishes to invite representatives of artistic communities in Lublin to take part in workshops organised by EEPAP.

The workshop "Dramatic adventures across the Iron Curtain" will be led by Stéphane Noël – a playwright and producer from Sweden, currently based in Berlin. He works in the field of theatre, dance, music and film. Stéphane Noël was one of the directors in the Festival Belluard in Fryborg (Switzerland) from 2004 to 2007, and as a playwright he participated in the preparation of the play "Glissando" at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw.

He is currently working with the director and musician Christian Garcia (Berlin / Lausanne), the choreographer Marie-Carline Hominal (Berlin / Geneva). Stéphane Noël is also a curator and correspondent for the Parisian "Gaîté lyrique", and the project director Paual Hoßfelda from "Warriors-Generation-Europe".

He is a member of the advisory committee of IETM and he cooperates with the Laboratoire Européen des festivals (the European network of music festivals created by Nuits Sonores in Lyon).

The topic of the workshop in Lublin will be the function of small and independent theaters compared with the bigger repertory theaters in Poland and Eastern Europe. Stéphane Noël will talk about his experiences from his Warsaw production. He will focus on how to create a strong independent scene and which tools that are needed for proper and fruitful participation in international networks of cooperation.

The workshops will be held on June 12th, from 12.00 to 16.00 in the Old Theatre in Lublin (Jesuit St. 18). All workshops will be in English and there will unfortunately not be any Polish translation.

All representatives from cultural institutions in Lublin are invited, but the number of participants is limited.

Applications (short information about the participant that incudes points on what he/she represents and in which artistic field the applicant is active) should be sent to: [email protected], and to: [email protected]. The people qualified to participate in the workshops will be informed within June 6th.
