Recipients

The educational course aims to communicate knowledge of theater and contemporary culture to graduates, students, and people interested in what creative activities are going in contemporary culture.

Program

The program includes three thematic modules:

  1. Cultural Journalism - 44 hours of classes preparing the student for work in media (cultural journalist in newspapers, radio, television).
  2. Production and role of the curator - 38 hours of classes preparing the student for work in cultural institutions (producer, curator, spokesperson) and educational institutions.
  3. Drama - 40 hours of classes on how to cooperate with theaters (literary manager and playwright/dramaturgist)

Organization of classes

The classes for each module will take place during two weekends  (4 days) and one weekend for Masterclasses. Lectures and workshops will be complemented by field trips, artistic activities (in a theater) and workshops for the press.

The individual modules will be undertaken independently and will offer the participant a gradual progression. It is possible to choose a few only, not all modules must be completed.

For those persons interested in continuing their work with the laboratory (higher education) SWPS offer postgraduate courses that will be rewarded with a diploma. The three aforementioned modules must be completed before starting a postgraduate course.

Program directors and teachers

Head of the Laboratory prof. nadzw. dr hab. Krystyna Duniec – professor in the Department of History and Theory of Theatre of Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, prominent expert on theater and contemporary culture. The teachers are lecturers from PAN and the Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute and EEPAP (East European Performing Arts Platform).
