Short biography: 

Boris Bakal is the artistic director of  Shadow Casters (Zagreb).

Boris Bakal is a theatre/film director and actor, intermedia artist, curator, writer and macrobiotic cook.

He has authored projects, performances, lectures, installations and multimedia creations presented at festival exhibitions and happenings throughout Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, UK, USA, Kosovo and the former Yugoslavia (including Bologna Cultural Capital of Europe 2000, Steirischer Herbst, Bollwerk Beluard International, Eurokaz, Urbanfestival, FIAT, THEALTER, Exodus, Stagione di Caccia, BITEF, INTERFERENCES and MESS).

His work focuses on the exploration of site/time-specific and interactive elements of arts.

He is the co-founder of several artistic groups, networks, platforms and associations such as Flying University, Orchestra Stolpnik, Zagreb Cultural Capital 3000 and Theatre of Obvious Phenomena, just to name a few.

Together with Katarina Pejovic, he co-founded and co-authored the projects of Bacači Sjenki/Shadow Casters (since 2001), an artistic platform that won numerous awards and prizes for its work (multimedia performances, cultural memory projects, urban-human networks, educational projects, workshops, lectures, conferences, urban performances, installations and exhibitions).
