EEPAP choreography workshops with Mikołaj Mikołajczyk during the Tadeusz Kantor Days in Minsk, Belarus, October 2015

The East European Performing Arts Platform, the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre and the Polish Institute in Minsk organised a series of special events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous Polish director Tadeusz Kantor.

Presentation of the results of the workshops

Mikołaj Mikołajczyk - choreographer, dancer; he graduated from the National Ballet School in Poznań, he has cooperated with representatives of different dance styles (Henryk Tomaszewski, Conrad Dziewiecki, Mats Ek, Birgitt Cullberg, Ewa Wycichowska), creating solutions to many dramatic and opera performances.  He has worked with directors such Maja Kleczewska, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Krzysztof Garbaczewski and many others.

 

The workshops were accompanied by screenings of Tadeusz Kantor’s plays.

The performances were presented in their original language, without translation

October 23 - "Dziś są moje urodziny"  ("Today Is My Birthday")

October 24 - "Nigdy tu już nie powrócę" ("I Shall Never Return Here")

October 25 - "Niech sczezną artyści" (“Let the Artists Vanish”)

 

All events were held at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre in Minsk.
