OPEN CIRCLE, Berne, Riga, Krakow
Krakowskie Reminiscencje Teatralne, International Festival of Contemporary Theatre Homo Novus in Riga and Auawirleben in Berne are organising a series of three research visits for Latvian, Polish and Swiss theatre artists with the goal of encouraging longer-term understanding and collaborations between the artists and the festivals involved.

RIGA LAB – OPEN CALL
The International Festival of Contemporary Theatre Homo Novus, September 2nd-8th, Riga, invites to apply for a week of intense festival-going and working sessions with festival artists. Without having to think about or work on results, the participants will be given the space to get to know the work and methods of the festival artists (Monika Pormale (LV), Rudolf Bekič (LV/AT), Philippe Quesne (FR), Signe Becker (NO), Lotte van den Berg (NL) among others), as well as the ones by participants themselves, and from their different perspectives, training and backgrounds, to reflect on the projects seen during the festival.
The focus of this meeting will be site-specific theatre practices where architecture of the space, light, sound and smells become integrated part of the performance and its scenography. It will also look at the role of nature and natural within the aesthetics and contents of the performance, as well as at the relationship of the the city and nature.
