MAPS OF FEAR / MAPS OF IDENTITY. Polish-Ukrainian Performative Project – open call results

MP

We are pleased to announce the results of the open call for the workshops for Ukrainian theatre directors, playwrights, dramaturges and actors which will be held in Lviv (May 2016) and Kharkiv (July 2016), in the frame of the Polish-Ukrainian Performative Project “Maps of Fear / Maps of Identity”.

The final selection procedure was extremely challenging: we have received 98 applications from emerging and experienced theatre artists and researchers from various Ukrainian cities and regions. Among the applicants there were 53 young actors, and 45 theatre directors, playwrights, dramaturgs and theatre researchers.

Due to the high quality of the applications, we have decided to increase the number of  participants of the workshops. The final line-up of the work group will be verified after the confirmation from all chosen participants.

The applications were evalued by the committee of experts consisting of: Iryna Chuzhynova (Theatre Platform, Ukrainian Theatre magazine, Kyiv), Oksana Dudko (Centre for Theatre Research and Education, Lviv), Liubov Ilnytska (Les Kurbas Theatre, Lviv), Svitlana Oleshko (Arabesky Theatre, Kharkiv), Nadia Sokolenko (Ukrainian Theatre magazine, Kyiv), Viktoria Shvydko (Art Workshop Drabyna, Lviv), Joanna Wichowska (EEPAP, Warsaw).

After a careful investigation of the applicants' bios, educational and professional backgrounds, work samples and motivation letters (many of which appeared to be incredibly insightful essays on the subject of the project in reference to the performing arts and/or current situation of Ukraine), the committee has decided to choose the following applicants:
