PERFORMERS, ACTRESSES, ACTORS, DANCERS are invited to attend the artistic activities of the project of Matera2019 named ‘The poetics of the shame’ co-produced by Matera2019-Basilicata Foundation and Retetatro41.

 

Specifically the project activities include:

A theatre workshop  directed by Maja Kleczewska, awarded Lion Silver at Venice Biennal 2017,   about the issue of the shame. It will take place in Campi Salentina (Lecce)  since 3 to 7 November 2018 in cooperation with  Mediterrean Academy of the Actor and Istituto Calasanzio-Cultura e Formazione .

The fee to attend the workshop is € 100.

 

An artist residency in Skopje (Macedonia) between  26 November to 15 December about the topic of the shame. It will be directed by the Italian director and coreographer  Silvia Gribaudi , the Kossovarian  playwriter Jeton Neziraj, the Spanish-Israelian coreographer Sharon Fridman.

 

 

Only for the selected performers to the artists residency in Skopje the participation is free and  the full accommodation is covered by the partner organization (Artopia).

 

THE POETICS OF THE SHAME is a co-creation project between #reteteatro41 (including Petra Theatre Company as project responsible) and Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation with the partnership of Accademia Mediterranea dell’Attore ( Lecce-Italy) , Qendra Multimedia ( Pristina-Kosovo), Artopia ( Skopje-Macedonia), Ballo(Podgorica – Montenegro), Center of Cultural Decontamination (Belgrado-Serbia). Artistic curator of the project is Antonella Iallorenzi. Project coordinator is Franco Ungaro.

The aim of the project is implementing of a research, training and production process including workshops, artists residency, artistic incursions  that will finish through the creation of one performance about the topic of the shame directed by Silvia Gribaudi (www.silviagribaudi.com) that will be played in Matera on 2019 March 9th. The cast of the final performance will be decided after the artists residency in Skopje.

This call is aimed at informing and inviting the performers interested to participate to the  artistic activities of the project and to be selected for the final performance.

Main requirements: 

  • age limit - 35;
  • good knowledge of English;
  • strong physical training;
  • interest into practice dance language and humor, with predisposition for irony;
  • availability to nudity;
  • knowledge and practice of contact improvisation;
  • ability for improvisation in singing, dance, theatre;
  • relational skills with people and communities.
