Call For Applications: Suddenly Residencies (France and Belgium)

Suddenly residencies is a programme of art and research residencies in Brussels and in the countryside near Paris.

Suddenly Made is about objects, their status and processes of production. Each resident will have to design a limited series object. Six residents (the 4 selected applicants + the 2 curators) living and working together during ten days in Beauchery and another ten days in Brussels. First phase will focus on design and prototyping, while second phase on producing the series' first item and exhibiting.

The call for applications is open to any person who has completed their studies, regardless of age or nationality. Personal work and interest in objects and production processes, sculpture, installation and exhibition issues will be considered for applying as much as being involved in a collective project. Everyone should be active on any level of the residency, whether on work, research or daily tasks and chores. The residency offers accommodation, meals and use of technical spaces, promotion and public events linked to suddenly activity. Transport is refunded up to 100 Euros. 3000 Euros production grant will be shared between all the residents, and would be updated depending on public sponsorship. The residents commit themselves to staying for both phases of the residency, full-time.

Selection will be carried out in early June by a professional jury.

Results will be emailed and the list of selected applicants will be available on our website.

The residency will take place during 2 phases:

— 17-26 August 2015 in Beauchery, France

 — 1- 10 October 2015 in Brussels, Belgium
