Theatre Confrontations Festival (Lublin, Poland): Apply now to take part in workshop sessions

This year, Theatre Confrontations offer an exceptionally intensive educational programme, open both for professionals and amateurs.

The first series of workshops is  carried out as part of the “Sąsiedzi” (Neighbours) programme and includes two master classes held in Lublin in October, during the 21st edition of the festival.

This year's workshop session will be led by artists forming two outstanding collectives: Gob Squad and Agrupación Señor Serrano.

GOB SQUAD

This is a two-day closed workshop, whose aim is to present the strategy used by the group while working on new productions.

The workshop presents the collective's methodology of using text and video to create the structure of the show which combines reality and fiction.

Gob Squad will present methods and the process of working on the example of performances "Western Society" and "Dancing About".

Workshop participants will be preparing material based on autobiographical and political stories, using video tools, text, movement and improvisation.

The workshop is designed for everyone who wants to develop the skills of creative expression (stage experience is not required).

Classes will be conducted in English.

Dates of the workshop: October 8th and 9th (everyday from 12.00 to 4.00 pm)

Venue: Centre for Culture in Lublin

Limit of participants: 15 people

Cost of participation: 300 pln (the price includes admission to the performance by Gob Squad on  October 7th). Additionally, workshop participants will be able to purchase tickets to other events during the festival at a special price.

AGRUPACIÓN SEÑOR SERRANO

This is an intensive four-day  workshop finishing with an open presentation of work, designed for those who do not agree with the simple pigeon-holing of functions and tasks at work: actor, director, composer, production designer. The members of Agrupación Señor Serrano will take the workshop's participants through different parts of the artistic process - creating individual scenes, drama of video, preparing props, creating the characters on stage, writing text and all other activities necessary for preparation of a performances with the use of multimedia tools, including the creation of live video content and sampling materials available online.

Workshop participants should have basic skills in working with a camera, photo and video editing, creating props (modelling). The workshop will be conducted in English

Dates of the workshop: October 11th - 14th (between 10.00 am to 4.00 pm). Presentation of work: evening of October 14th

Venue: Centre for Culture in Lublin

Limit of participants:  9 people

Cost of participation:  600 pln (the price includes admission to the performance by A.S.S. On October 9th and 10th)

Workshop participants will be able to purchase tickets to other events during the festival at a special price.
