East European Performing Arts Platform (EEPAP) supports the
development of contemporary performing arts (dance and theatre)
in 18 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Call for Applications: EEPAP Residencies / Internship Program 2015

East European Performing Arts Platform is pleased to announce an Open Call for the third EEPAP Residency / Internship Program 2015.

The residencies / internships are organized together with the partner institutions and organizations from Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Romania. They will take place during the autumn / winter of 2015. 

EEPAP Residency / Internship Program 2015 is designed for critics, curators and managers working in the field of performing arts, that are residents of the countries covered by EEPAP.

1. TEMPS D’ IMAGES FESTIVAL, Cluj, Romania, November 7-14

Dates: November 3 to 15, 2015,

Residency Code: CLUJ-1

One position

Profile: performing arts critic, curator, cultural manager,

Responsibilities: participating in the final phase of the Festival preparations as well as organization activities during the Festival; working with international companies and festival guests; contributing to the critical coverage of the Festival events (reviews, interviews, critical diaries)
Eligibility: proficiency in English is required 

2. International Festival KONFRONTACJE TEATRALNE, Lublin, Poland

4. Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute, Warsaw, Poland

Profile:
international projects manager, theatre critic, curator

Responsibilities: internship in the International Project Department of the Theatre Institute, participating in the promotion and organization activities
Eligibility: proficiency in English or Polish is required 

5. International Theatre Festival MESS, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina

Dates: September 26 – October 3, 2015
Residency Code: MESS-1
Up to three  positions

Profile: dramaturge, literary manager, playwright

Responsibilities: participating in the workshop on dramaturgical work and theatre repertoire programming, organized and held by Schaubühne, Berlin and MESS festival.

Eligibility: proficiency in English is required 

Conditions

Successful applicants will be provided with:

  • free accommodation
  • flight/train/bus tickets 
  • stipend to cover living expenses (the amount of the stipend will be set according to local conditions) 

CLUJ-1 residency will start several days before the festivals events and continue through the whole festival program. Chosen curator / critic is to participate in the final phase of the festival preparations as well as different organization activities during the festival. The important part of the residency will be writing the critical reviews / diaries about the Festival events. 

TI-1 internship will include assisting in particular activities of the host organization: contributing to the ongoing work of the International Project Department of the Theatre Institute in Warsaw. 

Applicants chosen for the residencies at Konfrontacje Teatralne (KTL-1) and Prapremiery Festival (PRA-1) are to work on the critical coverage of the Festival programme. The result of the residencies should be a written review of the Festivals.

The MESS-1 residency is designed as a workshop for theatre professionals dealing with dramaturgy and theatre programming.

Eligibility:

Eligible Profiles: critics, curators, dramaturges, and managers, working in the field of performing arts (for details: please check the list of residencies).  

Eligible Countries: residents of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, and Ukraine (the countries covered by EEPAP). 

In some cases preference might be given to residents of countries covered by EU Eastern Partnership Programme: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

Please note:

- there are no age limitations 

- there are no limitations regarding the institutional/organizational background of the applicants

- candidates can apply for more than one residency/internship, but the successful applicant can take part in only one of them

- successful residents/interns will be asked to submit written report after the residency/internship is completed
- the applications from the individuals based in other countries than those covered by EEPAP will not be accepted

Please note that a Russian language version of the call and the application form have been included for reference at the bottom of the page; however, since a good command of English is essential for the placements, we strongly suggest that the application form and the motivation letter be written in English.

Selection Procedure:

The choice of the applicants will be made by a committee formed by the members of the EEPAP team and the organization hosting the residency/internship.

The selected applicants will be contacted directly by the organizers by August 31, 2015. 
The final results of the open call will be published on EEPAP website by September 7, 2015.

This year’s EEPAP RESIDENCY / INTERNSHIP PROGRAM consists not only of residencies based on open call, but also of several artistic residencies designed for individual artists selected upon recommendations and agreements with our partner organizations. Artistic residencies by special invitation focus on concrete artistic and exchange projects, and are co-organized by the festivals/institutions such as Transeuropa Festival, Hildesheim, Germany;  Mladi Levi Festival and Mladinsko Theatre, Ljubljana, Slovenia; Theatre Zoloty Vorota, Kyiv, Ukraine.
